Professional Philosophy

I’m not satisfied with minimum viable product. I want to make people’s lives better. I want to make things people can’t live without. Working as both a user experience designer and front end developer, I understand there is a balance between design and development. I think creatively and embrace big ideas. I’ve learned that great products come from hard work, passion, and a systematic approach to product design.

Experience

UI/UX Developer / Senior User Experience Designer Connecture, Inc. 07/2009 - Present

As a junior level UI developer, I was involved with modernizing the front end from table based jsp pages to CSS based layouts. I designed and helped develop the front end of our InsureAdvantage small group market offering. This included the design and development of 5 modules and an integration and continuity audit for two separate systems to work as one. Working in an Agile environment, helped transition our InsureAdvantage platform from a market reaction focus to a user centered experience. Helped create innovative and market leading health insurance software from concept to proof to market. Immersed myself in front end technologies such as HTML, LESS (CSS), and Javascript, jQuery, dustJS, Backbone, Bower. Conducted user surveys, designed wireframes via Axure.

Worked with design team to create compelling email campaigns. Created a flash piece to increase awareness and educate on Jockey’s premiere men’s underwear line called 3D Innovations. Worked with the Search Engine Optimization Team to integrate Core Metrics and Google Analytics tracking in Flash assets.
